Casa Brindisi Locasciulli
Rome (Italy)
2003

When we began work on the project for this residence we were acting as mediators between the needs and tastes of the parents on the one hand and of the desires of the children. A family
of artists; one who sings, one who acts, one who paints and one who, while practising a profession apparently not artistic, is sensitive and refined. The whole family lived in an absolutely informal and unconventional way. The interior is simple and functional: the materials used are almost all
craftsman made, hand-smalted Neopolitan tiles, iron for the balusters of the intermediate floors which have to show the informality of the owners and a search for simplicity, windows engraved and painted by hand with designs by Serena Brindisi, rustic tables in varnished chestnut together with a floor in pasta vetrosa (composite coloured glass) and gold, and walls upholstered with rough canvas painted by Serena Brindisi herself.
